Board Bios

Anvi Kevany

I have been a part of the LAUSD family since 1999, when my oldest son entered kindergarten at Mt. Washington Elementary, and presently a USC alumnus, class of 2015. I joined the PTA as a board member in 2000, and have been a PTA member, volunteer and parent leader since then.  Currently, I work with 100 PTA/PTSA schools within LAUSD, providing leadership training and support.  I also work part time for an organization that advocates for gifted learners and their families.  This is my third year with Eagle Rock Jr./Sr. High PTSA, with my youngest daughter entering 9th grade this year. I am honored to be a part of a well-respected organization, a hardworking PTSA team, and a school with dedicated and hard working staff, students, parents and community members.

First Vice President for Hospitality

I am a parent to two students in our neighborhood’s namesake schools, a 6th grader at the Elementary and a freshman here at ERHS. As a proud alumni of both schools, I am more than happy to have volunteered for 8 years on the elementary’s PTA board and now my second year on ERHS’s PTSA board as VP, Hospitality. Community is incredibly important to me and so I make time to serve on Yosemite’s Park advisory board and a couple of ministry’s at St. Dominic’s Church. I am also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and ACS-Cancer Action Network. In my spare time I use my Ed.M in Early Childhood Education and Bilingualism to work full-time for a non-profit in Central LA, servicing low-income, at-risk, immigrant families with young children. I am also a wife to an awesome guy who supports it all.

Yoshiko Kim
Second Vice President for Membership

I am the mother of two, my youngest is in 8th grade. I volunteered at Dahlia Heights elementary school for six years. I was a room parent for my child’s classes. For the PTA, I was a secretary for two years, membership chair for one year, event chair and various other responsibilities. I helped organize and lead prospective parent tours. I helped organize and run various fundraising events (holiday boutique, valentines day gifts, holiday DVDs). For the past two years, I was the board district 5 representative for the parent advisory committee which advises the district on LCAP funding. I learned how the district is spending their LCFF funds and how it is helping the district achieve its goals. I am currently in charge of membership at Eagle Rock. I hope that we can reach 300 members before the end of the 2018-19 school year. I hope we can make everyone feel included. As an Immigrant to this country, I understand the challenges that parents and students face who are not culturally native to our country. I currently run my own consulting business on wellness.

I am “my kids mom”– a proud parent of a current ERHS student and a proud Eagle Alum. I enjoy being a voice and advocate for children, educators and parents. I find it immensely rewarding to mentor, give back to my neighborhood and help the school community that helped me be who I am today. I am excited to be part of the ERHS PTSA board. I look forward to the connections and friendships made with this motivated and proactive group. We have a great leadership with enthusiastic members who share the same vision and goal: ensuring our ERHS community thrives and succeeds!

This is my second year serving as PTSA treasurer for Eagle Rock Jr./Sr. High School. I have two children. One has graduated from high school and now attends the University of La Verne. My second child is a junior at Eagle Rock High School. I have served as treasurer, auditor, and assistant VP of Programs at Mt. Washington Elementary PTA. I have also served as treasurer, auditor, and parliamentarian for the Highlands Council. I’ve been volunteering in my children’s school since 2005. I continue to volunteer because I know that my involvement in their day-to-day life has affected them in so many positive ways. These are the formative years of their life. As I see them mature, I see good, respectful, and responsible young adults and teenagers. I have no regrets. I work part-time as a paralegal for a small boutique law firm in downtown Los Angeles. Our law firm specializes in trusts and estates. I really enjoy my job. I love travelling with my family, especially to beach resorts. I also enjoy the mountains and skiing. My most favorite thing to do is spending time with my children.
