Financial Awareness Workshops (10/19, 10/26)

As part of the 2022 Semana Nacional De Educación Financiera or #SNEF2022 (National Financial Education Week), the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles will be hosting a series of Financial Awareness Workshops, Wednesdays, 10/19 and 10/26.

It is the most important event of Financial Education in the year, promoted by the Government of Mexico, to raise awareness among the population about the importance of developing sufficient financial capacities, to manage and take advantage of the resources available to them in the best way.

LAUSD 2022 Young Women’s Leadership Conference (11/5 9:00a)

The registration deadline is Friday, 10/28/22, and participation in the 2022 Young Women’s Leadership Conference will be limited to the first 800 LA Unified Middle & High Schoolers who register.

The Student Empowerment Unit invites you to the virtual 2022 YOUNG WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE – IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES! Join the conference to step up, learn, be empowered, and be in charge! The conference will take place on Saturday, November 5, from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm. There will be guest speakers, prizes, and world-class entertainment. During the conference, you will hear from panelists representing all professions and backgrounds.

During the conference, you will learn strategies on how to:

  •   Become an empowered woman
  •   Create the life that you want
  •   Grow into a position of power
  •   Navigate systems

Revised 2022-23 Instructional Calendar

Please note that Wednesday, Oct. 19 is now a required school day for students and school personnel. All 8 class periods will meet to preserve the existing Green and Gray Days schedule.

Additional required school days are Dec. 7, March 15, and April 19. The 2022-23 school year for students will end on June 9, 2023.

Winter Recess remains scheduled for Dec. 19, 2022, through Jan. 6, 2023, and the second semester will still commence on Jan. 9, 2023. Please visit achieve.lausd.net/calendar for more information.

The revised calendar also includes optional Acceleration Days, which will be held on Dec. 19-20, 2022, and April 3-4, 2023. Acceleration Days are designed to help address learning loss associated with the pandemic.
